The Nestor Zurita quartet is comprised of some of the most exciting Musicians in South Florida. Having played together for many years their performances are a constant explosion of creativity that can only be achieved through playing together for a long time. Paul Banman, pianist of the group brings a rich pallet of harmonic structures. Hector Neciosup is a world-recognized drummer that is full of fire on stage. His approach to the drums brings rhythms from around the world creating unique colors an beautiful textures. Tony Alford is an experienced bass player that keeps the band together and it’s always moving ideas into unexpected directions. Nestor Zurita on the saxophone is constantly searching for new ways to create new melodic ideas. His improvisations are always beautiful and intricate at the same time.
This combination of artist always gives their all to the public and it’s guaranteed to keep the audience at the edge of their seat throughout the concert. For this concert the quartet has prepared a series of original compositions that explore intricate rhythms combined with sounds as far away as Asia and the Middle East. Using jazz and classical music as the foundations for creating improvisational structures the musicians will stretched to the limit the capabilities of their instruments. Before each composition a brief explanation of its origins will be given.
