Juvenal Correa-Salas is a pianist, organist, harpsichordist and conductor born in Santiago, Chile. He studied music in Chile, Venezuela and Puerto Rico and graduated from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana. During his last years at Indiana University he was part of the faculty at the piano department, and worked with the Ballet and Opera Departments. Juvenal has performed as soloist on the organ, piano and harpsichord in recitals and with major ensembles in the USA, Chile, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela. As conductor, chamber music collaborator and accompanist he as worked internationally at opera houses and major music festivals. As a composer he has been commissioned to write religious choral and orchestral works, solo piano works, incidental electronic music for theatre and dance, full length ballet works, and chamber ensemble works. As lecturer, he has been invited to opera houses, universities, and international symposiums in Europe, South America and the USA. Juvenal is an active composer, soloist performer and guest artist with ensembles around Europe, Latin America and USA. Juvenal and his wife, ballerina Emily Ricca, are the founders of “Romance Project” a non for profit organization that develops international artistic/educational programs. He and his wife they currently live in Miami Beach. He also works in collaboration with Miami City Ballet, New World School of the Arts and Miami-Dade College Music Departments, as well as fulfilling his composition, performances and presentations agenda for the current season.
